Leaving Jamaica

Small update … But we are just waiting to board the plane now. In total it’s being a new experience for me and I’m glad to see my family. I know I have to come back and I just hope I can sooner than later but of course, need to get money first! Either way will update and post the album link when I get home!

Jamaica day five

I didn’t get much sleep maybe due to the funeral which made me feel a little unsure of everything. Either way I went to get ready for the day ahead and try my hardest to have a shower quietly. Problem is the water is still cold as anything and hoping we have hot water soon. I waited for my cousin to ring my phone so we could take Douglas to the airport. Mum got up and gave me a patti and bread for breakfast and before long I had a phone call from B to pick me up. When it came through I finished eating and brushed my teeth. Time I got to the front door I heard the car horn and said bye to everyone who was awake. We soon picked up Douglas and we went to drive to the airport. When we got on the main road, Jimmy passed us by in his cab. I never thought I see someone drive faster than Brian but Jimmy does it. We dropped Douglas off at the airport

Jamaica day eight

I had a snooze for a little bit today! Yaaaaaaaaay! Until I had a unexpected phone call from someone asking if we was going to link up today. Most of the morning I was waiting to go Black River so I could get my cousin products. Mistakenly I thought it was shampoo but it’s body oil. /facepalm! But we are finally here in Black River and had a little walk around the place in full. People are nice and friendly

Jamaica day four

As always mum is up before me and the house is sounding like the party is still happening. I’ve not been outside yet but was called into the living room to eat a patti and cereal. Grandma offered me another patti but already I was feeling full from everything last night. Me and my cousin had a walk around to the old house she used to live in and the heat was killing me. I didn’t trust the people around but my cousin knew them which was fair enough but I didn’t want to take any pictures with them around. We got back to the house and we had to get ready for the funeral now. As always mum wanting to rush out and get dressed which didn’t make any sense since it was another hour left to go. This was one of the things we hated about her fully and never understood why I bother with her at times. The truth is I’m still feeling the side effects of the tablets also the mind blocks that has happened of late. What would Trinity think of me if they saw me dressed up like this? Sigh Granddad I’m hoping that you are in spirit with me today because I will need you now before I go and see you again. Our judgement will soon come I know that but before it does I want to see some things done. We got here early and church is still going with all of us a little worried. Five minutes later the casket

Jamaica day three

This morning I had to rush out the door since when I woke up, Auntie Thelma and Auntie P was set to go market. The market is based in Santa Cruz and is pretty much like every other one I been to but one slight difference, you can have someone with a cart who will carry your shopping to the minicabs. We did a lot of shopping to have everything ready for the funeral tomorrow while mum, Auntie Sybil, El and W went to get their hair done. The problem is that today is Auntie El birthday and I completely forgot to get a card for her. But later today I’ll go to Black River again and try buy her one. When I do I’ll get Auntie Thelma to sign it as well. Brian gave me, Auntie Thelma and Auntie P a lift to Black River earlier but now his busy doing pick up round for cousin from Canada and another member. After we went to the market, I went back to the house with Auntie Thelma where both my smaller cousins Jaleel and Jaheed were there. They are both Paula children and are aged five and seven years old who spent time watching NCIS. We have some time messing around for a while but I soon needed time to relax and be able to sit down and chat. Soon the car arrived and it was my cousin Douglas who arrived at long last! We sat down and had a chat and he agreed with everyone else I look completely different from what everyone remember me to be. It made me happy to hear that but now I’m wondering if it was a good change or a bad one. I asked him and he said it’s a good chance and feels like I found my own identity which pleased me. Brian soon came back and we was on the road again but this time to pick up Paula and her boyfriend in Black River. I didn’t know much about him and to be honest I forgot his name already but he looks pretty skinny still. After we dropped them back at the house, Douglas was wanting to get some jerk chicken from a place near by which lead to the four of us going. I was thinking the chicken was ready to eat but turned out it was going to be a 25 minutes wait before anyone had anything. We sat down at the bar and I got to know Paula’s boyfriend more and he seems like a really cool guy. We finally went back to Grandma’s house where the Wake had already started. The whole place was packed out and it looked like a festival was been played at her house. It was simply amazing to see a site like this and I loved the idea of everyone making sure Grandma was happy during this hard time. Cars were parked inside and outside to fill up the space that was there. I spent most of my time with the people I came with but I soon went to freshen myself up. I had a shower at last and changed my clothes readying myself for the awesome party. I got to meet a few people who I never met before and got to know them all better. Put it this way most of the garden was filled with my cousins from different sides of the family. The party carried on from sunrise and didn’t finish until 8am. This truly was something pretty amazing and will be one of the most inspiration things I been about of. As for me I need to get me some sleep and be ready to go church tomorrow at half two.

Jamaica day two

Woke up this morning a lot better this morning due to the amount of the sleep I had! Tried to have a hot shower again today with no joy. Mum says the hot water system is on but I never feel it to be honest with you. Even still a shower is better than none so I welcome it. Auntie Sybil slept in our room on the blow up bed and said herself she had a good sleep. For now I’m sitting outside with my grandma, mum and a few of my aunties. Not so hot today but the breeze is nice. We’re going Black River later but for now we’re chilling. We have the goats here which are tied to the tree at the moment. Three of them in total but won’t be dealt with till tomorrow. I got asked if I wanted to kill one but I passed on the offer. The other animals like the dogs and pigs walk around relaxing. Auntie El and me went to have some sugar cane which was pretty nice! At the moment look like they are setting up to kill a goat which I’m not wanting to be around. They made a kitchen outside for the service but it’s a very basic one. Davain my cousin was here for a little while but he soon picked up the bike and left. I’m a little worried of how his taking everything in since he lost his mum, Auntie Faye. I’ll try get a picture of all of us tomorrow for the funeral but I hope it won’t be something of disrespect to the family. They are about to kill one of the three goats but the cries are so loud I have no choice but to play music to deaf it out. I never like the sign of killing and always hated it. I’m guessing it’s now over but the fact is I rather have my music playing than hear it. This is not something I think I can get used to but hopefully I won’t be around to hear anymore of it. Uncle George and myself went to Black River for a little bit to pick up a drink and go Juicy Patti. After that I went to see Brian and Paula my cousins and spend time with them. While there my cousin Anita and Steve turned up with Auntie Thelma. I can see the family coming together now and it’s looking huge! I didn’t know that the TV channels they have was streaming from America itself. A little later we went out to go and see different parts of Jamaica with him. He took me to Santa Cruz which was a bigger place than Black River but also very crowded. The problem is Santa Cruz is the only place where KFC is so it’s a long travel there. We had a talk about everything and I was glad that I did spend time with him. Maybe because he was in my age group and that’s why I felt m
